| reviewed by | Daniel Lekardal (from Sweden) on March 9, 2006 Thanks for the time backstage in Stockholm 3:rd of March with Toto. You killed us with your vocal chops that night, and the guitar playing was spot on. The Mrs was just as happy as I about the concert and the opportunity of meeting all of you. Thanks man, we do appreciate it. Daniel and Anna |

| reviewed by | Johan Koenen (from Netherlands) on March 9, 2006 Great Concert with Toto in Ahoy! I was lucky to win a meet and greet with the guys. It was a pitty that you were not there. I heard Steve was a bit sick or whatever. Nevertheless a nice concert with great Vocals. Personaly I think it's a shame that there are so much vocals in the samples while there are singers as you and Greg in the band. That's why the older songs rocked a bit more, more pure singing. I liked the acoustic set with a great version of you singing Stop loving you! Can you do that in Warmond as well?? ;-) I come to see you in Warmond (also helping Anton with the PA) for a nice evening of pure Music! |

| concert | October 1, 2004 - Muziekcafe Backstage - Deventer - Netherlands |
| reviewed by | Deena (from Belgium) on October 14, 2004 I went to see The Tony Spinner Band on October 1st in Deventer, it was their first from 8 gigs in October. Me and my parents arrived way too early for the gig, but we first wanted to see where the band would play, so we looked after Muziekcafé Backstage. Surprise: when we arrived at the café, Tony, Kim, Mark and Sonny just arrived and were unloading their instruments. We said hello to Tony, he looked a bit tired and I said: "You're a bit sleepy." and he answered: "Me? I'm always sleepy!" :-D After that, we told them goodbye and we went to eat something. At 8.30 p.m., we were already waiting to enter, but the boss from the café let us in before the others, that guy was really nice! We found a cosy place and sat down for awhile. Then, Tony came by and started talking to us. I felt really flattered, because I think that he's such an amazing artist. He was so nice to us, I just can't explain how nice he is, you just have to talk to him to find out how he is. He went away after awhile, but then Mark came to talk to us for something like 15 or 20 minutes. He's a really nice guy too, they all are actually! ;-) We talked a bit about everything, but we talked mostly about music, because that's what we all like isn't it? :-) When Mark left at his turn, he came back a little later with Kim to introduce us to him. That was so cool! At 10 p.m., the show started and it felt like everybody was in the mood! The band as well as the public! They played for about one and a half hour and then took a break from 15 minutes. I took advantage of that break to buy a TSB T-shirt (which is waaaaay to wide and big for me by the way, but I don't care :-D) and a Tony Spinner CD ("Saturn Blues"). When I bought all this, I learnt to know Henni, the person who is responsible for this wonderful website. Tony also signed my CD. I just can't say it enough: he is SO nice! He asked me what I thought about the concert so far and I told him that now I knew what real music was and he thanked me for saying that, but I really mean what I said! I think they're all so talented! And you just never get enough of it! That is the most incredible thing about them I think. After the break, they begun to play again for more than one and a half hour, but still, it felt like they didn't wanted to stop, haha, it's really difficult for Tony to stop playing, I already noticed that another time. :-) After the concert, Tony came to me and we took a picture together. Then, we said goodbye to the band and we left. Up to the next gig!! Deena, Annie & Jean from Brussels, Belgium |
| concert | October 5, 2004 - Q-Bus - Leiden - Netherlands |
| reviewed by | Deena (from Belgium) on October 14, 2004 We went to see Tony for a second time at the Q-Bus in Leiden. When we arrived, we entered the hall where they were going to play and Tony immediately recognised us from the last time in Deventer! We chatted a bit and then we left because the guys were going to eat. We met Mark outside and he recognised us too! We said hello and he left at his turn. After 2 hours, we came back and we took our places. I bought another CD from Tony and talked a bit with Henni, the webmaster from this fantastic website! I also met a Toto-fan and chatted a bit with her. Then, at 10 p.m., the show began. Tony came on stage with his sandals on, you could see that he was feeling comfortable. Tony said at the beginning: "We ain't going to do snobbery flicks tonight, we're going to have some real fun here!", that really showed us that he was in the mood! The band played several covers, like "Very Superstitious" from Stevie Wonder, but my personal favourite of the covers they did, was "Little Wing", the gorgeous song from Jimi Hendrix!! They played a bunch of songs from their new album who's going to come out soon, and by hearing them, it seems like this CD is going to kick some butt! The guys also played a few songs from Tony's other CD's, like "Freedom", my personal favourite. The band played for about 3 hours, a real disaster to me, because it was 1 a.m. in the morning when they stopped and I had to go to school at 8 o'clock in the morning . but I really didn't care about that! And even though I looked like a zombie (one of Tony's songs by the way! lol) Wednesday, it was really worth it!! Those guys really made me realise what real music is and it disgusts me to think about all the crap we hear nowadays. For me, this band will rule forever and I hope they will soon come back again in Holland, or maybe even to Belgium, because even though it's a real pleasure to travel till Holland to go and see them, it's always easier when they play near by your place. We wish Tony, Mark, Sonny and Kim a lot of success with the recording of the new album and we hope to see them very soon again! Take care guys! Deena, Annie & Jean from Brussels, Belgium. |

| concert | October 10, 2004 - Plein 79 - Den Bosch - Netherlands |
| reviewed by | Miet (from Belgium) on October 12, 2004 On Oct. 10 I went to a concert of Shania Twain - or at least that's how Tony Spinner introduced himself twice on stage :). The concert was absolutely brilliant: great crowd + atmosphere and certainly great songs - brilliantly played on guitar by Tony and Sonny. They did some of their own stuff + some covers (Stones, Steve Miller Band, etc). The concert lasted for 2,5 hours; they had to cut it this 'short' - as they put it - because they had another gig the same night (this one was in the afternoon). At the end of the concert, Tony even said that he wanted to skip the clapping for an encore by the audience (because they had to go to their 2nd gig), but after the 1st encore people did start clapping for a 2nd, so he gladly gave in. I really enjoyed myself at the concert and I do hope the band will come back some time next year!!! P.S.: I also met Henni - she's the webmaster of this site - and it was nice meeting her. She had a merchandising stand, but all CD's were already sold out. She told me that the winners of the 'internet interview competition' had already been chosen, but unfortunately I did not manage to find out who the lucky winners were. |
| concert | October 8, 2004 - Scooters - Leeuwarden - Netherlands |
| reviewed by | Robert Hogenbirk (from Netherlands) on October 11, 2004 For the second time, Me and my mate Bart went to visit Tony and Band in café scooters in Leeuwarden. We came in quite early so we could take an easy sit in the café with a nice beer, we met Sonny and other bandmembers and we were totally surprised that they still remembered us from the year before. I can't deny that this gave me a very warm and welcome feeling. a few minutes before the concert I couldn't hardly wait anymore to hear the TSB playing again. Then the concert started and they didn't Let me down!!! Everybody rocked the stage and the music was amazing. but offcourse to everything comes an end and the Gig ended. We went to the merchandise which had some very cool stuff!! Bought some pictures of the band, had them signed and then we took a last picture with the whole band. We had the time of our live and were so happy that we could experience it again in Harderwijk!! Tony and Band, Keep up the good work and I hope to see you all again soon!! Robert |
| concert | October 8, 2004 - Scooters - Leeuwarden - Netherlands |
| reviewed by | Bart Holwerda (from Netherlands) on October 11, 2004 I visited 2 gigs on this tour, the first was in Leeuwarden, the second in Harderwijk. In Leeuwarden it was awesome meeting the guys again and to hear they were doing well. They played a very long, fantastic set! Great variety in songs: playing some nice laidback ballads, great blues-songs and some uptempo rock&roll tracks! The gig started at about 22:30 and went on until 2:00! It was a great night. Tony was playing bare feeted, but still rocked like hell! Same for Sonny actually, he DID ware his shoes :P but played awesome! Mark was keeps amazing me by playing so fast on his bassguitar, and Kim was steady as always! I had taken my camera with me so I took some nice photo's. Before and after the gig we (me and my friends) got the chance to get some photo's with the guys (tnx a lot for that!) so we got some nice memories from the gig now! The next day we drove to Harderwijk to see another show. This time it wasn't in a small cafe, but in a nice club with a bigger stage and a great sound! The support act (Blueshaker) started playing at about 21:00, great musicians too! At 21:30 Tony, Mark, Sonny and Kim started playing. Great gig this was, even better than the one in Leeuwarden. Sonny and Tony were incredible to say the least! It was the best performance they did of the 4 I saw (also 2 in April). Man oh man, those guys are one with their guitars! Both of the nights were great, it was a weekend I will never forget!Guys, you are fantastic musicians and even beter people. Good luck with everything you're going to do when you get back home, take care and I hope to see you all back here maybe in April! |
| concert | October 9, 2004 - Park 3 - Harderwijk - Netherlands |
| reviewed by | Robert Hogenbirk (from Netherlands) on October 11, 2004 The second night we went to visit Tony and band in Harderwijk this time. again we were astonished by the music and we saw the audience flow away on the music!! compared to Leeuwarden this was much more show as the band was performing on an elevaded podium and there were better light affect. this caused the band to look much fuller of glamour and glory. When the Gig was about to end the audience succeeded in letting the band play a few more numbers which were also great. I really hope to see the band coming to Holland in Spring and I'll sure be there again then. greets to all Robert |

| concert | April 9, 2004 - Q-Bus - Leiden - Netherlands |
| reviewed by | Mariska de Hoogt (from Netherlands) on August 21, 2004 My friend took me to this performance because I was swept away by his apperance at NOTP with TOTO. However we both did not know his music only that it is blues, we were totally blown away by their perfomance! The Tony Spinnerband really rocked our socks off! They can add us to their fanlist. As described in former reviews these guys just kept on playing and playing!Awesome, fantastic! And they are realy friendly. We had a short talk with Tony and took a cool picture and we found a connection with Mark about quarterhorses. He told us beautiful stories about horses and Arkansa. During the concert I could take pictures from every angle, they did not mind!Hope you like them as much as I did taken them during this great concert. You will see us again on the 5th of october! |
| concert | April 1, 2004 - Da Lidia - Maasmechelen - Belgium |
| reviewed by | Miet (from Belgium) on August 1, 2004 The April 1st gig was at the Da Lidia in Maasmechelen (no, no April 1st joke!). The gig was for free. It was in a small pub and because there hadn't been that much publicity, there weren't that many people there (I guess 150 or so), but on the other hand, the pub wasn't that big either. The guy standing next to me was a big TOTO fan. He told me he had been driving for 2 hours to get here and that he had to get up early the next day to go to work. That wouldn't be so hard, he thought, as the gig would start at 9.30 pm, so it would be over at 11.00 pm at last, giving him plenty of time to drive back home. Well, the gig lasted till . about 1.15 am (including a break of 30 minutes)!!! Don't know how tired he was when he turned up for work the next day! The TSB didn't play any TOTO-stuff - just some of Tony's solo stuff and a few covers - Stones, Free, Hollies and several CCR songs (one of them was a brilliant cover of Long as I can see the light). The guy who had organised the Hendrix Files Tour also organised this tour - he even joined Tony on stage for 3 songs (Hendrix stuff). I personally thought that the concert was excellent - Tony is a great guitarist and has a very good voice - better than I had imagined. The guy happens to be very friendly too - you had the opportunity to talk to him before the show, during the break or afterwards. Loads of people went over to him after the show to say how much they had liked the gig and Tony did appreciate that. All in all it was really worth it and if you have any doubts whether to go to one of Tony's gigs, please do check it out - it's superb! |
